Members of the South Orange-Maplewood community have created a gofundme page to help raise funds to bring Cecilia Cranko’s mother to South Orange for her funeral and to cover funeral expenses. Donations are needed by Tuesday, July 9.
The gofundme reads as follows:
Our community has suddenly lost a vibrant member: Cecilia Cranko. Her mother will be flying in from South Africa and we are raising funds for her flight. In addition, we are seeking funds for her funeral. Thank you. If you can please donate by Tuesday, July 9, 2019. Thank you.

Cranko was killed early Friday morning in a fire in her home on Ward Place in South Orange. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Cranko, an architect and parent of two children, was a beloved activist in the South Orange-Maplewood community and beyond, appearing at a number of events and rallies on behalf of LGBTQ+ rights.
